Welcome To Mass Aerospace Council
Promoting, supporting & fostering the development, growth and contributions of Massachusetts aerospace organizations.
Aerospace In Massachusetts
Massachusetts companies & institutions are key participants in all aspects of the aerospace industry – from jet engines to homeland security and from the space shuttle to space exploration. There are over 1200 organizations with facilities in the state that contribute to the field and generate billions of dollars in revenue through R&D, manufacturing and consulting services.
But most people are unaware that Massachusetts plays such a key role in the aerospace field – perhaps this is a result of our conservative and modest nature or perhaps we just haven’t promoted ourselves like the Mass biotech & mutual fund industries. For certain, Florida, Texas & California are always stealing the public aerospace spotlight and to most, seem to be the epicenter of anything aerospace.
We might not have a space port, launch pad or aircraft assembly plant, but we do the research, create the software, develop the specialty metals, engineer systems, design robotics, build components, test assemblies, validate concepts, finance and provide other services which are critical to the field.
Here are just a few contributors with major operations in Massachusetts:

Mass Aerospace Council![]()
Mass Aerospace Council promotes, supports & fosters the development, growth and contributions of Massachusetts aerospace companies.
Through seminars, networking events, workforce development programs, educational initiatives, public outreach and legislative efforts, Mass Aerospace Council is committed to advancing aerospace efforts and its benefits to individuals, organizations & countries worldwide.
In order to grow and further the advances in aerospace, industry participants must reach out and support each other through business networking, collaborations, sharing of best practices, legislative lobbying and educational outreach.
Outreach efforts are especially important since just about all aerospace organizations receive some or all of their funding through contracts with NASA, DOD, FAA or from prime contractors who in turn get their funding from the government. The support of Massachusetts tax payers & voters is key to continue the various aerospace and R&D programs.

Why Is Aerospace So Important?
The aerospace industry is one of our country’s most critical & strategic industries with a vital role in our culture & economy. Our aerospace capabilities provide passenger and freight transportation, homeland security & defense, television, radio, telephone & data communications, GPS, weather forecasting, satellite imagery, space exploration and so much more.
Directly and indirectly, aerospace also supports & provides technology and services to the agricultural, computing, health care, communications, construction, automotive and energy industries.
Perhaps the greatest impact of aerospace is on a very personal level. The youth within us all gets excited, motivated and inspired everytime a plane flies overhead or a rocket blasts off for the heavens.
The passion the aerospace industry generates and its lasting impact on our world is unparalleled by any other field.
